Cost of Living

  • A tax cut for every Australian taxpayer-not just some, so people keep more of what they earn
  • Energy bill relief for every household
  • Cheaper childcare for families 
  • Cheaper medicines- which has already saved locals over $8 million

 Health and Aged Care

  • Two Medicare Urgent Care Clinics in Corrimal and Dapto, so locals can get free urgent care when they need it most
  • $17.4 million for new local aged care beds and upgrades
  • $6.2 million for the Acute to Residential Care Transition Service (ARCTS) program to support people living with dementia and their families to transition from hospital to residential care in the Illawarra
  • $350,000 for research in advanced imaging in cancer radiotherapy

Housing

  • Over $35 million in local housing support, including the expanded Home Guarantee Scheme and increase to Rent Assistance.
  • Over $9 million for local crisis, transitional, and affordable homes for locals in need

Education

  • Over $42 million for additional Commonwealth Supported Place to train more teachers, nurses, engineers and mathematicians
  • Over $3 million for 15 local school upgrades including Kemblawarra, Bellambi, Nareena Hills, and Wollongong Public Schools and Warrawong High School, providing much-needed support to students and families
  • Cutting HECS debts for more than 37,000 Illawarra students and making sure that student debt never grows faster than wages,
  • More than 5,500 students studying Fee-Free TAFE

 Infrastructure

  • More than $360 million for local roads and infrastructure projects like:
    • Mount Ousley Interchange
    • Stuart Park All Abilities Playground
    • Beaton Park Tennis Court Upgrades 
    • Hill 60 Accessible Viewing Platform
    • St George Illawarra Dragons' Community and High-Performance Centre

Community

  • More than $12 million for local sporting, community, and disability organisations
  • Secured a $10 million commitment under a re-elected Albanese Labor Government for the Southern Suburbs Community Centre & Library
  • More than $5 million for local multicultural and refugee organisations to support our multicultural community 
  • Over $300,000 for local live music venues and festivals, like Yours & Owls and Port Kembla Festival 2025
  • $100,000 for security upgrades for the Australian Islamic Cultural Centre at Omar Mosque in Gwynneville  

Industry and Energy

  • Over $180 million for local industry and innovation, including supporting the Port Kembla Steelworks and the development of a green hydrogen industry
  • $5.4 million for home electrification pilot to decarbonize local homes and save on power bills
  • $1 million for Community Batteries in Warrawong and Dapto
