Previous rounds of the program have delivered upgrades to the women’s change rooms at the Illawarra Sports Stadium, a kitchen upgrade for Windang Surf Life Saving Club, accessibility upgrades at the Phoenix Theatre and the installation of air conditioning for Wollongong Meals on Wheels.

Quotes attributable to Stephen Jones, Member for Whitlam:

“This programme is a show of commitment from this Government to improving our communities for the better and I encourage all eligible organisations to apply,” said Mr Jones.

Quotes attributable to Alison Byrnes, Member for Cunningham:

“Community organisations have had it tough over the past few years with covid restrictions and severe weather events, with many prevented from fundraising and regular activity.

“This round of the Stronger Communities Programme will allow for much needed upgrades to our local community infrastructure and support those groups that deliver services in our community.
